I didn’t read the post, but if it says that all link building is blackhat then they don’t know what they are talking about. Google doesn’t mind if you build links to your website…that’s what the web is all about. But their intention is to only use the links that have editorial value in assessing the ranking potential of a site. That means that if you are buying paid links, or engaging in spam tactics to get links, they don’t want to value those. But if you write a good article for a site and it includs a link back to your site, and the site owner finds value in making that link… That’s whitehat, and it’s exactly how Google wants the web to work.
